This document is applicable to characterize the content distribution, location distribution and state distribution of multi -element in iron and steel. The content frequency statistical distribution, segregation statistical distribution, apparent density statistical dis tribution, statistic fitting degree statistical distribution and the type, content and particle size statistical distribution of inclusions can be characterized. 2 Normative references The following document is referred to in the text in such a way that so me or all of their content constitutes requirements of this document. GB/T 21834 -2008 Medium and low alloy steel -Determination of the distribution of multi -element contents -Original position statistic distribution analysis me thod 3 Theory The original position statistic distribution analysis is performed by laser -induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) on the relative motion sample. The excited emission spectra are dispersed into characteristic spectral line . The emission line intensities of the selected reference line and the analysis line are measured. Th e calibration curve is setup by the standard samples. According to the intensities and the calibration curve, the elements content of the scanning area is obtained. The excitation location information is synchronously obtained.
